The Bad Plus Farewell Tour
The Bad Plus brings its farewell tour to Philadelphia as part of the 2026–27 Jazz Series. After 26 years, more than a quarter-century of boundary-pushing jazz, and three distinct lineups, founding members Reid Anderson and Dave King have decided that 2026 will be the group’s final year. The tour offers audiences a chance to hear the band’s adventurous, genre-defying live music before this chapter ends.
The current lineup pairs Anderson on bass and King on drums with Ben Monder on guitar and Chris on saxophones. Known for reworking music in an original style and combining jazz with the energy of post-punk, The Bad Plus has earned widespread critical acclaim and a devoted international following. Anderson and King say they plan to perform final shows throughout 2026 with pride in the band’s legacy and gratitude to its listeners.
