Botanical Impressions: Ceramic Dessert Plate Workshop
Create a set of handcrafted ceramic dessert plates inspired by the botanical collections of Longwood Gardens. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn slab-building techniques, press leaves, needles, and other plant materials into clay to create textured patterns, and use pigments to bring color and emphasis to their designs.
The class takes place at Centered Clay Studio in Kennett Square and is taught by Debby Wyatt, the studio’s owner. After the workshop, the studio will glaze the finished plates and return them to Longwood Gardens for pickup within two weeks. The registration fee also includes all-day admission to Longwood Gardens on the day of the class.
