Spotlight Talk: Art & Connection with the Vovchenko Family

Delaware Art Museum welcomes Anastasiia, Kateryna, and Nazar Vovchenko for a conversation about their experiences with art and cultural connection in Ukraine and the United States. Gallery Learning Assistant Joe Soler will lead the discussion, exploring how the family’s relationship with the arts changed after moving to Delaware and how they discovered new ways to participate in the local arts community.

The Vovchenko family came to Delaware from Ukraine in 2022. Their lives in Ukraine were shaped by a culture deeply infused with the arts, while adapting to the United States introduced a different way of engaging with artistic life. Their Delaware experiences have included a cyanotype-making workshop with University of Delaware artist John Cox, the Citizen Artist Summit at the Delaware Art Museum, and a Pop Up Tour during the museum’s summer Happy Hours series.
