Eddie Griffin

Eddie Griffin brings his stand-up comedy to Copeland Hall at The Grand Opera House. A comedian and actor whose career began after a cousin challenged him to perform at a Kansas City comedy club, Griffin has developed a broad following since entering the comedy scene in 1990.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Griffin was voted class clown three consecutive years in high school. Although dance was his first passion, he opened a dance studio at 16 and choreographed halftime performances for the Kansas City Chiefs. After successfully turning an instructed three-minute set at Sanford and Sons into a spontaneous 45-minute performance, he bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles to pursue stand-up comedy. His acting credits include playing the Pastor in the 2018 Academy Award-winning film *A Star Is Born*, alongside Dave Chappelle, Lady Gaga, and Bradley Cooper. His Showtime special *Eddie Griffin: Undeniable* premiered in February 2018 and received strong reviews.
