I Play Rocky

I Play Rocky is a biographical drama about Sylvester Stallone before he became famous as Rocky Balboa. The film follows the struggling young actor’s determination to bring his underdog screenplay to the screen, risking everything for the opportunity to play the lead himself. It explores the ambition, perseverance, and unlikely circumstances behind one of cinema’s most beloved sports films, including Stallone’s eventual connection to Philadelphia’s iconic art-museum steps.

Anthony Ippolito stars as Stallone, with Stephan James, AnnaSophia Robb, Matt Dillon, and Tracy Letts. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly.
