Ax and the Hatchetmen bring their “Late Check Out Tour” to Union Transfer with Tipling Rock. Fronted by Axel Ellis, the Chicago-rooted indie rock six-piece combines sunburnt guitars and jangly tunes. The band’s journey began in high school hallways outside Chicago and has grown into nearly a decade on the road, millions of listeners, and a dedicated fan base. The tour’s premise is that checkout happened hours ago, but the band is still not ready to leave.
