Join Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Sharswood community for a family-friendly Halloween celebration honoring new public artworks at Webb Plaza. The event celebrates murals by Amir Campbell and Marian Bailey, along with sidewalk poetry by Dr. Poetica Bey and Enoch the Poet, through an afternoon of art, music, spoken word, food, and community gathering.

Visitors can tour the newly revitalized plaza and artwork, hear from project partners and participating artists, and learn about the Sharswood residents who contributed design feedback and hands-on artmaking. Costumes are encouraged.

When: October 30, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Schedule: The mural dedication ceremony and speaking program begins at 3:20 p.m.

Program: The celebration includes live entertainment, a dedication and speaking program, artwork tours, pumpkin- and mask-painting, free food, and Halloween giveaways.

Lineup: Poetica and the Contraband 2.0 will perform. The honored artists and poets include Amir Campbell, Marian Bailey, Dr. Poetica Bey, and Enoch the Poet.

Featured artworks: Amir Campbell’s *Rhythm of Resilience*, Marian Bailey’s *Something I Dreamt Last Night*, and poetry embedded in the Sharswood sidewalks.

Project background: Mural Arts developed the artworks through a multiyear partnership with the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Neighborhood Choice Initiative. The installations reflect Sharswood’s history, resilience, revitalization, and efforts to heal from decades of inequity. The project received support from the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Housing and Community Development, SHIFT Capital, Lower North Philadelphia CDC, the Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association, and the Brewerytown Sharswood Neighborhood Coalition.

About Webb Plaza: The plaza opened in 2023 on the former site of the Norman Blumberg Apartments. It honors Webb Department Store, which operated for 50 years at 2152 Ridge Avenue. The store was run by Bruce Webb, a record-retail pioneer, community newspaper photographer, mentor to music professionals, civil rights and veterans affairs leader, and respected community elder.

Activities: Pumpkin- and mask-painting is presented in partnership with the Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association. Free food and festive Halloween giveaways will also be available.

Ages: The event is family-friendly and free and open to all ages. Costumes are encouraged.

Tickets: Free. Attendees are invited to RSVP for free.

Venue: Webb Plaza, 2077 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19121.

Partners: Philadelphia Housing Authority, the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Housing and Community Development, SHIFT Capital, Lower North Philadelphia CDC, Brewerytown Sharswood Community Civic Association, and Brewerytown Sharswood Neighborhood Coalition.
