*CANCELLED* Jessica Lea Mayfield

*CANCELLED* Jessica Lea Mayfield was scheduled to perform at Johnny Brenda’s, with Rachel Bobbitt appearing as support. The event listing describes Mayfield’s forthcoming music as emerging from a period of major personal upheaval and transformation after the delayed release of material recorded with Day Wave. Her songs reflect the end of a marriage, profound changes in her beliefs and goals, and the sense that the album would not be released until that chapter of her life had ended.

Rachel Bobbitt’s music centers on the ocean as an immense, indifferent force and on memories of her Nova Scotia upbringing. Her debut full-length, *Swimming Towards the Sand*, draws on her musical childhood, years of navigating public attention after building a large Vine following as a teenager, and later studies in jazz and vocal pedagogy at Humber College. Based in Toronto, she combines nostalgia, resilience, and hard-earned perspective with contemporary songwriting.
