Washington Croissant-ing the DelawareA Special Tour of The Crossing with Joshua Lessard
Washington Croissant-ing the Delaware offers an early-morning, behind-the-scenes tour of *The Crossing: Picturing the American Revolution* led by Joshua Lessard, the museum’s Director of Exhibitions. Participants begin in the lobby with coffee and croissants before entering the galleries ahead of public hours.
Lessard will discuss the creative and logistical work behind the exhibition, including how Vanessa German’s installation is assembled and whether its presentation changes from one display to the next, as well as what is involved in installing Ai Weiwei’s toy-brick artwork. The tour explores the decisions, challenges, and unexpected details involved in bringing major works to life, while offering a closer look at the exhibition from a new perspective.
The program is designed for a small group and encourages conversation about the art. Space is limited, so advance reservations are recommended.
