Loose Panic ~ In Lieu of Roses ~ Midnight Dispatch

Loose Panic, In Lieu of Roses, and Midnight Dispatch bring three distinct takes on Philadelphia-area rock to Kung Fu Necktie. Loose Panic draws on melodic ’90s indie rock, emotionally charged songwriting, and guitar-forward arrangements. In Lieu of Roses combines emo, shoegaze, indie rock, and classic rock into moody but approachable songs, while Midnight Dispatch blends rock with blues, punk, funk, and improvisation.

Loose Panic features Jarret Crawford on vocals and guitar, Liam Hare on drums, Anthony Carlisi on bass, Max Blauer on guitar, and Mariella DiStefano on keyboards and vocals. The band’s debut album, *Weightbearing*, contains nine songs centered on themes including meaning, place, loss, memory, love, identity, and the burdens carried by individuals and society. Its influences include R.E.M., The Replacements, Wilco, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Counting Crows, Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr., Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, and Pixies.

Formed in 2019, South Philadelphia’s In Lieu of Roses was founded by Eric and Logan and later expanded with John, Rob, and Alyssa. The group recorded its debut album, *First Sword*, at Headroom Studios, with the record scheduled for release in early 2027. Midnight Dispatch features guitarist and vocalist Zack Krall, bassist Yoren Maniquis, vocalist Muhara, keyboardist and vocalist Limpin’ Lemon Lincoln, and drummer Kemal Pohan. The band’s debut album, *Fever Dream*, is out now.
