Kate Flannery | Overserved

1901 Vine Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Price not available
Featuring: Kate Flannery

Kate Flannery presents *Overserved: The Lucky Life of the Office Drunk*, an offbeat comedy memoir about her unconventional route to Hollywood and her breakthrough as Meredith Palmer on NBC’s *The Office*. The actress and comedian recounts moving from waiting tables and serving celebrities in Los Angeles to becoming a performer herself, finally landing her defining role at age forty.

Flannery’s story includes her childhood as the daughter of an Irish American bar owner, her years working as a waitress, backup singer, movie extra, off-Broadway actor, host, and comedian, and the determination that carried her through each stage of her career. She also shares behind-the-scenes stories from *The Office*, including her decision to wear little or no makeup, perform many of her own stunts, and collaborate with the show’s writers on Meredith’s memorable moments. The memoir addresses questions about whether she really shaved her head, how the scene in which Meredith is hit by Michael Scott’s car was filmed, and how she found love on set.
