Witch

Witch by Jen Silverman, adapted from John Ford and Thomas Dekker’s *The Witch of Edmonton*, follows a charming devil who arrives in the quiet village of Edmonton offering to trade its residents’ darkest wishes for their souls. Elizabeth, branded a “witch” and rejected by the town, seems like an easy target, but her soul proves difficult to purchase. As the devil repeatedly returns to persuade her, unexpected passions emerge, alliances take shape, and the village is permanently transformed.

This inventive, subversive retelling of a Jacobean drama explores what people may be willing to sacrifice when hope is difficult to find.
