Anansi the Spider: A Make/Partake Experience

Anansi the Spider: A Make/Partake Experience is a family production inspired by an Ashanti fable from Ghana. In the story, Anansi dreams of becoming the lord of all stories, so he asks the Sky-God Nyame for that honor. Nyame challenges him to bring back a python, a leopard, and a swarm of hornets. Using clever tricks and ingenuity, Anansi succeeds and earns the title he sought.

As part of Curio Theatre Company’s Make/Partake series, children are invited to help create the performance rather than simply watch it. Participants can make props, produce sound effects, and help control the weather and other theatrical elements.
