Angine De Poitrine
Angine De Poitrine brings its exuberant, otherworldly rock to Franklin Music Hall, with Zouz. The performance celebrates *Angine de Poitrine Volume 2*, a high-voltage album that pushes loop-based music into bolder and more dynamic territory while drawing on acid techno, disco, and rock.
The Quebec duo Klek and Khn de Poitrine create asymmetrical, dissonant music driven by tight drum grooves and intricate double-neck microtonal guitar. Their theatrical sound and imagery move between hot dogs, pyramids, space-time travel, and rock music’s grand excess, producing hypnotic, energetic performances designed to make bodies move. Since releasing Volume 1 in 2024, the group has appeared at major Quebec festivals, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, and is scheduled to perform at Trans Musicales in Rennes.
Volume 2 uses repetition as a starting point rather than a limitation, with detailed humor woven into its adventurous structures. The program also includes “Mata Zyklek,” a fast, urgent piece built around the rumble of the fifth and presented as a chaotic, low-budget-Hollywood-style action chase.
