Meals from Mushrooms: A Culinary Exploration of Fungi

Meals from Mushrooms is an in-person culinary arts class exploring the flavor, texture, cultivation, and nutritional qualities of edible fungi. Participants will sample a range of mushrooms, including familiar varieties and specialty cultivars, while learning how to select, prepare, and cook them.

Chef-led demonstrations offer practical ideas for using mushrooms in everyday meals and special-occasion dishes. The experience combines instruction, tastings, and culinary inspiration, with an emphasis on appreciating mushrooms as versatile kitchen ingredients.

Tickets: $99; $89 for Longwood Gardens Members and Innovators

Admission: The fee includes all-day admission to the Gardens on the day of the class.

Instructor: Chef Will Brown

Instructor background: Will Brown combines classical French methods with modern culinary techniques, using local and seasonal ingredients. His cooking emphasizes sustainable seafood, ethically sourced products, pure flavors, fresh herbs, and edible flowers.

Ages: Intended as an adult learning experience.
