Everything Is on Its Way to Somehow: Avant-Garde Jazz
Everything Is on Its Way to Somehow: Avant-Garde Jazz presents an evening of adventurous music rooted in avant-garde jazz, a movement often known as “the New Thing.” The style challenged conventional expectations and broadened the possibilities of musical expression through daring and complex sounds.
Knoel Scott, a key member of the Sun Ra Arkestra, performs with the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble. The program draws on the boundary-expanding spirit associated with artists such as Albert Ayler, Anthony Braxton, and the Sun Ra Arkestra.
