An Evening with The Hooters

An Evening with The Hooters features the Philadelphia rock band known for combining rock with ska, reggae, pop, and folk influences. Co-founded by singer-keyboardist-accordionist Rob Hyman and singer-guitarist Eric Bazilian, the group is recognized for its distinctive use of the melodica, or “hooter,” and for hits including “And We Danced,” “All You Zombies,” “Day By Day,” “Johnny B,” “Satellite,” “Karla With a K,” and “500 Miles.”

Formed in 1980, The Hooters became a major presence on Philadelphia’s music scene before earning international success with their Columbia Records albums *Nervous Night*, *One Way Home*, and *Zig Zag*. Their history includes opening the 1985 Live Aid concert in Philadelphia, appearing at the 1986 Amnesty International Concert, performing at Roger Waters’ 1990 production of *The Wall* in Berlin, and collaborating with artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Joan Osborne, The Band, Carole King, Mick Jagger, Willie Nelson, and others. The band’s later releases include *Time Stand Still*, *Both Sides Live*, *5x5*, and *Give the Music Back*, a live album recorded at the Keswick Theatre. The group was inducted into Philadelphia’s Walk of Fame in October 2019.
