FJORD

FJORD is an official PFF35 selection and a first-run film directed by two-time Palme d’Or winner Cristian Mungiu. The drama follows a Norwegian woman and her devout Romanian husband as they move with their five children to a remote, tightly connected coastal town. Their teenage children quickly bond with a neighboring family, but tensions grow around the family’s rigid beliefs. When allegations of abuse arise, the newcomers must contend with a judgmental system where genuine concern and prejudice become difficult to distinguish.

The film stars Sebastian Stan, Renate Reinsve, Lisa Carlehed, and Ellen Dorrit Petersen. It is presented in Romanian, Norwegian, English, and Swedish.
