Ancient Airs
The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia presents a program devoted to the rich, expressive possibilities of string orchestra. The concert pairs Respighi’s elegant *Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3* with David Diamond’s lyrical *Rounds for String Orchestra* and Leonard Bernstein’s orchestration of Beethoven’s *String Quartet No. 16 in F Major, Op. 135*. The program is led by conductor David Hayes and emphasizes the ensemble’s warm, luminous string sound.
