The Improv Double Feature
The Improv Double Feature brings two improvisational comedy teams to the stage for an hour of late-night laughs. The lineup includes The Hot Seat, directed by Keane Cobb, and The Next Big Thing, directed by Michael Levine.
The Hot Seat draws on audience stories about the childhood mischief and shenanigans people got away with, especially the kind of situations that feel like they belong in a 1990s sitcom. Using the Harold format, the improvisers turn an audience interview into spicy, spontaneous comedy.
The Next Big Thing explores how society changes through innovation. The audience suggests a new invention intended to solve a major modern problem, and the performers follow its impact through a series of scenes that move progressively farther into the future. Each jump in time reveals a world increasingly dependent on the invention, with consequences that may be less positive than expected.
